Raleigh Bicycles

Here at Almanzo we're big fans of the motto, 'run what ya brung' and in no way would we ever encourage anything else. That said though, if you're in the market for a new rig (especially one that crushes the rock) be sure and check these guys out. We've been riding the RXC since late last Fall and absolutely love it. Quick, stiff and responsive, this thing handles like a dream. Whether it's steel, aluminum or carbon that gets you out of bed, Raleigh has something that will to fit your needs. Maybe it's the RXC or the Roper? Maybe your a high style kind of person and it's the International or the Militis? Don't believe us? Go and test ride one today and see for yourself.

A second sample post to see how everything will look and to see how far the body of text will move over toward the photo. I think it's working rather well, I'm just not certain as to the final layout.

Welcome.

After a fair amount of coffee and a tremendous amount of time coming down from the monster that was my 2011 Almanzo experience I've decided to jump headlong into the world of internet entertainment...sort of.

In all honesty, as some of you may already know, I've been posting drivel on the Almanzo blog for a long time. From hockey fights to useless abstract art videos I have been trying to show the world as I've been viewing it. Some of it good, most of it benign, but all of it important to me. This new site is a culmination of everything I've been a witness to as well as the things I feel are important in the world of gravel racing, cycling in general and life as usual for me and the folks I know. In an attempt to keep things as fluid as possible I have moved all of the posts over from the Almanzo blog (just in case there was something there you just couldn't live without).

In addition to that I have invited a few fine folks to make regular contributions to this new site. Among them are the esteemed Jeremy Kershaw (of Heck of the North fame), Sir Christopher Tassava of Northfield, DJ Martin Rudnick, a currently anonymous expert in the field of beer and liquor, the Honorable George Mallory and others as they make themselves available. Here, alongside myself, these fine folks will strive to bring you current and valid opinions, reports and interviews from the world we know.

I hope you enjoy what you find here and come back often as we intend to be adding content on a regular basis.

Cheers,
Chris Skogen
