Registration Is Open!

Posted by Chris Skogen On January - 9 - 2012

2012 is here and we are excited to announce that registration for the Almanzo 100 and the Royal 162 has opened. Be sure and get your name on the list by following a few simple instructions. First, get a postcard (we're rather partial to the one over there). Second, fill it out with the correct info (found by clicking the title above). Third (and fourth), get a stamp on the card and drop it in the mail by January 31st. Fifth, wait patiently while we compile all of the data as it comes to us and then check back here to see if your name is on the list (spelled correctly we hope). That's pretty much all there is to it. Oh yeah, we'll announce race day specifics once we figure out how many riders we will have and so on. Keep it real.

A second sample post to see how everything will look and to see how far the body of text will move over toward the photo. I think it's working rather well, I'm just not certain as to the final layout.

  1. Fonk Said,

You're guaranteeing good weather this year, right? ;-)

  2. Chris Skogen Said,

We will guarantee, absolutely, that there is no conceivable way that it could get any worse than last year.

  3. Chris Skogen Said,

    ...or your money back.

    Cycling hats would be nice.

...you never thought gravel racing would make it this far

  5. Chris Skogen Said,

...and if ya don't know...now ya know.

  6. Malcolm Said,

    100 and a Royal 162 this year?

  7. Shane Said,

Just thought I'd mention that the only place I found the date for 2012 is on the now defunct old blog. Is 5/19/12 correct? Any chance we'll see more event details linked through the new site?

  8. Chris Skogen Said,

5/19/12 is correct. Our apologies for the oversight.

  9. Bobby Said,

Now I'm in the lime light cause I ride bike?

  10. Do you send email confirmations when cards are received? Or, should I send several cards to ensure the delivery of at least one?

  11. Anonymous Said,

Will there be a link to the up to date roster?

    Thanks

  12. Anonymous Said,

Postcard postage is 3 cents more, total of 32 cents, starting this Sunday.

  13. Anonymous Said,

If I remember when a postcard use to cost 3 cents does that date me? No comment necessary.

  14. David G Said,

"We will guarantee, absolutely, that there is no conceivable way that it could get any worse than last year."

Give yourself more credit, last year was amazing mainly because of the crazy weather. I sit at a desk all day, so getting the opportunity to push myself to my endurance limit was worth a hell of a lot more than what I paid in time and money to do the race. I will be praying for the same weather this year.

  15. demitasker Said,

Postmarked by 1/31, not arrived by 1/31, right?

  16. Anonymous Said,

    last year's weather was perfect.

  17. Anonymous Said,

Disappointed to not see my name on the list. Are you still working through postcards received near the deadline?

  18. Anonymous Said,

Is there a start list published somewhere?

  19. shawn138 Said,

I didn't see my name on the list!
