Barriers. We don’t like them. Since 2007 we have worked tirelessly to eliminate them when it comes to cycling events. As part of that process we have always tried to find ways to get more people on bikes…so it wasn’t completely surprising to find out the 100 miles of gravel roads was a bit much for some. As a result, we created the Malanzo. This 50 mile event will start at the same time as the Almanzo and similarly offer stunning views and challenging hills. Do you have 50 in you?
The Almanzo 100 gravel bicycle race is held annually in Spring Valley, Minnesota, where it all began. This grandfather gravel event starts and ends in downtown Spring Valley. On site check in will be open to participants on the first Friday after Mother's Day from 5pm to 9pm at the Spring Valley Community Center. The race begins at 9:00am near the Community Center on the first Saturday after Mother's Day.
The Royal is the big brother to the Almanzo 100. It is a 162 mile gravel road race that starts and ends in downtown Spring Valley, MN. On site check in will be open on the first Friday after Mother's Day from 5pm to 9m at the Spring Valley Community Center. This event begins sharply at 7:00am, near the Spring Valley Community Center on the first Saturday after Mother's Day.
Born out of the desire to go further and see more, the Alexander is a 380 mile gravel road race starting and ending in downtown Spring Valley. While this route is certainly open to anyone at anytime, there is a formal event that begins at 5:00am on the first Friday following Mother's Day. The start of this event is just outside the Spring Valley Community Center, downtown Spring Valley, Minnesota.
